It may sound cliche, but Wake Forest is an incredibly tight knit community. Through the power of the internet, a few thousand alums, students, and fans communicate with each other at all hours of the day on all imaginable topics. This family knows each other, shares our stories, laughs together, yells at each other, and on occasion cries together.

Less than a month ago, an alum from the class of 2007 unexpectedly lost his girlfriend/best friend in a tragic accident. While at Wake, I only knew his face, but as with so many others, I know much about his life and vice-versa.

Earlier tonight, while still in the midst of grieving, he decided to share one of the last things she posted on her blog. The list of questions made me think twice, and more than anything I am posting it here to preserve it so I can easily revisit the list later.

Questions to live by:

  1. Who do I love and what I am doing about it?
  2. Am I pursuing my dream or is fear stopping me?
  3. Am I doing something that matters?
  4. What am I doing to help others?
  5. Am I as good a person as I want to be?
  6. What am I doing to live with passion, health, and energy?
